Marlon A. Mendoza, M.D.
It has been a personal mission in my life, to inspire individuals and be a role model for children. I actively reached out to public youth most of my adult life. Whether it be speaking to youth and encouraging them to go to college, two separate medical missions one in Honduras and the other in El Salvador, or participating in other local charities here in town. I have always felt drawn towards Pediatrics, including when I was in high school, I knew I wanted to be a Pediatric doctor. I am blessed to be a doctor and do God’s work, by providing care to children.
“There comes a point in your life when you realize: who matters, who never did, who won’t anymore, and who always will. So don’t worry about people from your past, there’s a reason why they didn’t make it to your future.” -Adam Lindsay Gordon.
I am from Chicago. I have been a doctor for almost 22 years and counting! I received my bachelor’s degree from UNLV, attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, and ultimately completed my three year Pediatric residency here in Las Vegas.
I am married to my beautiful wife Cierra who is also in the medical field as a registered nurse, in addition to being a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) Instructor. We have six children, the oldest being 25 years old. A set of 18-year-old twins, 15-year-old daughter, 10-year-old son, and our baby is now 4 years old.
As a family we love to travel, and we love Disney. My personal hobbies include snowboarding and soccer, but I love all sports (let’s go Bears!) and real hip hop music is my genre of choice. My favorite color is red, and my favorite number is 23 (Yes, I’m a huge Michael Jordan fan!) My favorite all time movie is The Passion of the Christ, which is in a league of its own. Otherwise, my other favorite movie is The Matrix.
